Grounded 2 – How to Get Toe Biter Scythe Tier 4 Weapon

Unlock the Tier 4 Toe Biter Scythe in Grounded 2 by finding Toe Biter Venom and gathering every material needed to craft it.

Grounded 2 - How to Get Toe Biter Scythe Tier 4 WeaponThe Toe Biter Scythe is a Tier 4 two-handed weapon added with the Into the Abyss update in Grounded 2. It is unlocked by analyzing Toe Biter Venom, then crafted from Toe Biter parts and materials gathered around Skunk Pond and the Abyss.

The easiest way to unlock it is to defeat Admiral Grand, the named O.R.C. Toe Biter Leviathan found near the Bridge south of the Pergola, loot its Venom, and scan that Venom at a Resource Analyzer.

Toe Biter Shell 2 Kill Toe Biters
Pond Moss 3 Harvest deep in Skunk Pond with Tier 3 Omni-Clippers

The Toe Biter Scythe recipe does not unlock automatically when you reach Tier 4 progression. You first need to obtain Toe Biter Venom and analyze it at a Resource Analyzer.

  2. Look around the water near Skunk Pond for Admiral Grand, the named O.R.C. Toe Biter Leviathan.
  3. Equip a Gas Mask before approaching because the surrounding area contains hazardous gas.
  4. Defeat Admiral Grand and harvest its remains.
  5. Pick up the dropped Toe Biter Venom.
  6. Travel to any Field Station with a Resource Analyzer.
  7. Analyze the Toe Biter Venom to unlock the Toe Biter Scythe recipe.

Other Toe Biter Leviathans can also drop Toe Biter Venom, but Admiral Grand is an easy named target to use specifically for unlocking the recipe.

Admiral Grand is found in the eastern part of Brookhollow Park around the Bridge and Pergola, close to Skunk Pond. It is much larger and more dangerous than a regular Toe Biter and carries an O.R.C. laser attachment.

  1. Open the map and locate the Pergola on the eastern side.
  2. Travel toward the Bridge south of the Pergola.
  3. Equip a Gas Mask before entering the contaminated area.
  4. Search around the nearby water and pond edge.
  5. Look for the large O.R.C. Toe Biter named Admiral Grand.
  6. Use PEEP.R to confirm the creature before starting the fight.

3. How to Beat Admiral Grand

Admiral Grand

Admiral Grand

Admiral Grand can hit hard and also uses its O.R.C. attachment for ranged attacks, but the fight becomes much easier once you exploit its elemental weakness and weak point.

Admiral Grand has:

  • Weakness: Spicy
  • Weak Point: Rump
  • Resistance: Fresh
  • Resistance: Venom buildup
  • Special Attack: O.R.C. laser beam

For an easier fight, follow these steps.

  1. Bring a strong Spicy weapon.
  2. Approach Admiral Grand from the side or rear.
  3. Focus attacks on its Rump weak point.
  4. Dodge or break line of sight when its laser attack begins charging.
  5. Block its normal melee attacks rather than trading damage.
  6. Keep attacking the Rump until Admiral Grand is defeated.
  7. Harvest the corpse immediately and collect the Venom, Claws, and Shells.

4. How to Get Toe Biter Claws and Shells

Toe Biter Claws and Toe Biter Shells are much easier to farm than the Venom. Regular adult Toe Biters found throughout the pond region can drop both materials.

Toe Biters commonly appear around:

  • Bridge Area
  • Gnarly Bark
  • Skunk Pond
  • Rocky Chambers
  • Touchdown Zone

Regular Toe Biters always provide access to Shells, while Claws can also drop from them. More powerful variants, including Admiral Grand and Toe Biter Leviathans, can provide both materials as well.

5. How to Get Pond Moss

Pond Moss Location

Pond Moss is the material most likely to slow down the craft because it grows in the deeper parts of Skunk Pond and the Abyss and requires Tier 3 Omni-Clippers to harvest.

Pond Moss can be found around the Galleries, Monitoring Station, Rocky Chambers, Skunk Pond, and Touchdown Zone.

  1. Upgrade your Omni-Clippers to Tier 3.
  2. Enter Skunk Pond with suitable underwater gear.
  3. Dive toward the deepest areas near the Diving Station entrance or deeper Abyss routes.
  4. Search the pond floor for dark, flat patches of moss.
  5. Use the Tier 3 Omni-Clippers to cut them.
  6. Collect at least 3 Pond Moss for the Toe Biter Scythe.

6. How to Get Cattail Fluff

Farming Cattail Fluff

Farming Cattail Fluff

Cattail Fluff is the easiest crafting material required for the weapon. Cattails grow around the water throughout the pond and Bridge areas, so you can collect the Fluff while already exploring for Toe Biters.

  1. Search around Skunk Pond and the Bridge for tall Cattail plants.
  2. Locate harvestable or fallen Cattails.
  3. Use an axe to harvest the plant.
  4. Collect the dropped Cattail Fluff.
  5. Keep 2 Cattail Fluff for the Scythe.

Cattail Fluff is also used heavily in the new diving and Toe Biter-related equipment, so collecting extras saves another trip later.

7. How to Craft the Toe Biter Scythe

Toe Biter Scythe Weapon

Once you have analyzed Toe Biter Venom and gathered all four materials, the rest of the process is straightforward.

  1. Return to your base or any location with a Workbench.
  2. Open the crafting menu.
  3. Find Toe Biter Scythe under the weapon recipes.
  4. Confirm you have 1 Toe Biter Claw.
  5. Add 2 Toe Biter Shells, 3 Pond Moss, and 2 Cattail Fluff.
  6. Craft the weapon and equip it from your inventory.

How to Repair the Toe Biter Scythe

The Toe Biter Scythe uses the same pond materials required to make it, so it is worth keeping extras after crafting rather than consuming every Toe Biter drop on armor or other equipment.

  • 1 Toe Biter Claw
  • 2 Toe Biter Shells

Open a Workbench, select Toe Biter Scythe, and repair it with 1 Toe Biter Claw and 2 Toe Biter Shells. You will also want an extra Claw later because the Scythe uses one for repairs.
