All New Exotics in The Division 2 Y8S1 Rise Up and How to Get Them

Year 8 Season 1 Rise Up adds three brand-new Exotic items to The Division 2. These additions include the Agitator assault rifle, the Whiplash pistol, and the Investor mask. All three weapons and gear pieces are built entirely around the season’s core combat design of active weapon swapping.

The Investor is available at Season Track Level 29; claim the Agitator from the premium pass at Level 1 or the free track at Level 69; and earn the Whiplash by clearing Pentagon Climax on Master after completing the Scout 3, 6, and 9 HVTs.

1. Agitator Exotic Assault Rifle

Agitator Exotic Assault Rifle

The Agitator is the Rise Up season’s Exotic AR, built on the F2000 platform. With 112k Base Weapon Damage, 850 RPM, and a 50-round base magazine, it is built for players who rotate weapons around its primed damage window.

Its unique Perturb talent is designed entirely around the game’s threat system. This creates a distinct two-phase combat loop where the weapon actively reduces your aggro while holstered and then spikes it dramatically once drawn.

Perturb Talent Mechanics

Agitator’s Perturb Talent

Perturb operates in two phases, depending on whether the weapon is holstered or drawn in combat. While the Agitator sits safely in your holster, it automatically generates 50% less Threat while you shoot with your other equipped weapons.

Keeping the weapon holstered for exactly 10 seconds causes it to become fully primed. Drawing a primed Agitator instantly triggers the active combat phase, which lasts for exactly 20 seconds and applies the following massive stat bonuses:

  • +25% Rate of Fire
  • +30% Weapon Damage
  • +100% Threat Generation

Swapping away before those 20 seconds expire immediately removes all three combat bonuses. The threat reversal serves as the talent’s core mechanic, suppressing aggro while you build toward the primed state and dumping it back during your primary damage window.

How to Get the Agitator

Y8S1 Season Pass Level 69 Reward

Y8S1 Season Pass Level 69 Reward

The Agitator comes from the Y8S1 Rise Up season pass reward track. It drops with Assault Rifle Damage and Health Damage as fixed attributes, plus a random third attribute. Unlock it through one of these tracks:

  • Paid Premium Pass: Available immediately to claim from Level 1.
  • Free Track: Unlocks naturally by grinding to Level 69.

After the Y8S1 season officially concludes, the Agitator will automatically enter the general Exotic loot pool, allowing all players to farm it from targeted loot sources.

2. Whiplash Exotic Pistol

Whiplash Exotic Pistol

Whiplash Exotic Pistol

The Whiplash is the most mechanically distinct of the three Y8S1 exotics and easily the most demanding weapon to obtain. Its exclusive Faster Than Reloading talent does more than boost the pistol’s damage output.

On a primed draw, the talent instantly auto-reloads both your primary and secondary weapons. That auto-reload cuts downtime for players who rotate between weapons during sustained boss fights.

Whiplash’s Faster Than Reloading Talent

Unlike the Agitator’s 10-second holster window, the Whiplash primes in just 5 seconds. This makes it significantly easier to work into fast-paced combat rotations. The weapon also ships with 50% Swap Speed built in.

Holster the Whiplash for 5 seconds to prime it. On a primed draw, Whiplash triggers three effects:

  • Auto-reload: Instantly reloads both your primary and secondary weapons simultaneously.
  • +20% Rate of Fire: Applies directly to the pistol’s firing speed.
  • +50% Weapon Damage: Remains active until the pistol’s magazine is completely emptied.

Both damage bonuses are strictly locked to emptying the magazine. Dumping the magazine early or swapping to another weapon before it is completely empty removes all stat bonuses instantly.

The Director Mission Location

The Director Mission Location

The Whiplash drops exclusively from the highly challenging Pentagon Climax mission. Completing Pentagon Climax on Master for the first time guarantees the Whiplash Exotic Pistol as a one-time reward.

The Pentagon Climax mission went live on May 26, 2026, and features the Master difficulty. This tier unlocks only after players complete the mission once at any lower difficulty level. You must complete three specific Scout challenges in order before attempting the run.

  1. Complete the Scout 3 HVT from the Week 3 Rise Up manhunt.
  2. Complete the Scout 6 HVT from the Week 6 Rise Up manhunt.
  3. Complete the Scout 9 HVT from the Week 9 Rise Up manhunt.
  4. Run the Pentagon Climax mission on any standard difficulty to officially unlock Master.
  5. Clear the mission on Master difficulty for a guaranteed first-time Whiplash drop.

Repeat clears drop the Whiplash on any difficulty, with Master offering the highest chance for extra copies and different stat rolls.

3. Investor Exotic Mask

Investor Exotic Mask

Investor Exotic Mask

The Investor is the new Exotic gear piece introduced in Y8S1. Unlike role-locked Exotic masks, the Investor fits DPS, skill, and sustain setups because Slotted changes its passive bonus according to each non-Core attribute color.

Its exclusive Slotted talent reads the exact color of each non-Core attribute on the mask and converts it into a meaningful performance modifier. This dynamic scaling makes it one of the most broadly applicable exotic masks in the current Division 2 endgame.

Slotted Talent Mechanics

Investor's Slotted Talent

Investor’s Slotted Talent

Slotted grants a passive bonus for each non-Core attribute on the Investor. The bonus depends on that attribute’s color.

The Investor rolls with any Core attribute and a third random attribute instead of a standard Gear Mod Slot. Each non-Core attribute color grants one of these passive bonuses:

  • Red Attribute: Grants +10% Critical Hit Damage per slot.
  • Yellow Attribute: Grants +5% Skill Efficiency per slot.
  • Blue Attribute: Grants +1% Armor Regeneration per slot.

A mask with two red and one yellow non-Core attribute would give +20% Critical Hit Damage and +5% Skill Efficiency passively. No activation is required, and the bonus remains permanently active during combat.

How to Get the Investor Mask

Y8S1 Season Pass Level 29 Reward

Y8S1 Season Pass Level 29 Reward

Reach Level 29 on the Y8S1 Rise Up Season Track and claim the Investor Mask as a free reward. No paid premium pass is required for this Exotic gear piece.

It can only be claimed once per account, as season pass progression is shared completely across all active characters. After Y8S1 officially ends, the Investor enters the general Exotic loot pool, where multiple copies can be easily farmed.
